Accessibility Statement

GS1 Italy undertakes to make its website accessible, in accordance with Law No. 4 of January 9, 2004.

This accessibility statement applies to https://verifiedbygs1.gs1it.org/

State of compliance

This website is partially compliant with the requirements of Annex A of the UNI EN 301549 standard due to the cases of non-compliance and/or exceptions listed below.

Inaccessible content

The content listed below is not accessible due to non-compliance with Law 4/2004.
In order to make this accessibility statement, we took into account the WCAG 2.1 standards and the user experience of a test panel made up of people with different disabilities who tested the site. They used assistive technologies such as the main screen readers (Jaws, NVDA, or VoiceOver), whose purpose is to interpret the contents of the page and present them as voice output.

The test results show that some users may encounter difficulties in using certain pages or functions of this site, as they are only partially accessible. Below are the non-conformities and success criteria that have been violated:

  • 1.1.1 Non-text Content: some images on the website have alternative text that does not accurately convey the message of the image. For example, an image in the slider.
  • 1.3.1 Info and Relationships: In some cases, the relationships among content are not programmatically determined, causing a mismatch between the visual presentation and what is perceived using assistive technologies. For example, in some sliders, slides that are not visible can still be read by screen readers.
  • 1.3.2 Meaningful Sequence: some elements are not read in the correct visual order by assistive technologies. For example, some elements in sliders.
  • 1.4.1 Use of Color: some links on the website are not underlined. Links should always be underlined to distinguish them from regular text. Additionally, some information is conveyed solely through color.
  • 1.4.3 Contrast (Minimum): the contrast between foreground text and background is not always sufficient. For example, light grey text on a white background.
  • 1.4.4 Resize Text: enlarging text can cause truncation or overlapping, making some parts of the site unreadable. For example, the “Brand / Seller” text.
  • 1.4.11 Non-text Contrast: visual elements in the foreground and their background do not always meet the minimum required color contrast. For example, a green box on a dark blue background.
  • 1.4.12 Text Spacing: part of the content is truncated upon increasing the text spacing, thereby affecting readability. For example, the text “Brand / Seller”.
  • 2.2.2 Pause, Stop, Hide: the website includes decorative animations that are continuously in motion.
  • 2.4.4 Link Purpose (In Context): the purpose of some links is not clear from the visible text. For example, “8032089000147”.
  • 2.5.3 Label in Name: some interface elements have labels that include text, but the accessible name does not include the text shown visually. For example, the accessible name of the “Public page” element.
  • 3.1.2 Language of Parts: some text on the website is in a different language than the main page.
  • 3.3.1 Error Identification: for the search field on the website, error messages are not always provided in case of incorrect or missing input. Sometimes this information is communicated, but it is not automatically conveyed to users navigating with screen readers.
